Event Details

SAPICS is launching an exciting competition open to 10-15 entries only from Small, Medium, and Micro Enterprises (SMMEs) operating within the supply chain sector in South Africa. This initiative aims to foster innovation, showcase emerging talent, and provide a platform for groundbreaking supply chain ideas. The competition also offers the potential for support from the SAPICS community in terms of sales and contracts.


Eligibility Criteria

  • Open to SMMEs with an annual turnover of less than R20 million.
  • Businesses must operate within the supply chain sector in South Africa.


Submission Requirements


  • Entrants must submit answers to these 3 sections in 300 words in each section.
  • Mission Statement: Clearly define the company's vision and purpose.
  • Unique Solution Offering: Describe products/services and how they contribute to the supply chain sector. Share business ideas and marketing plans
  • Business Impact: Explain how the business will be useful to the South African supply chain market

Selection & Rewards


  • The panel of Judges will review the entries. They will select 3 finalists from the entries.
  • The top three finalists will be invited to attend the SAPICS Conference on Monday and Tuesday, 9-10 June 2025 at the Century City Conference Centre, Cape Town.
  • SAPICS will cover the costs of a return economy airflight to Cape Town from Johannesburg or Durban, one night accommodation in a single room at the Residence, Crystal Towers in Century City, Cape Town, on the 9th June 2025.
  • Finalists will be notified by the beginning of May to allow for planning.


  • Non-finalists will receive a SAPICS individual membership and may be invited to share their journey in a webinar or face-to-face session.


Competition Format at the Conference


  • Time Slot: 45 minutes at the end of the day on Tuesday 10th June 2025.
  • Presentation Format: Each finalist will have 15 minutes to pitch their concept. They may include videos and testimonials.


Judging & Audience Participation


A panel of judges will evaluate the finalists based on key criteria, including:

  • Impact on the Community: The positive effect of the business on society.
  • Economic Contribution: How the mission contributes to economic growth.
  • Sustainable Impact: The long-term viability and environmental/social sustainability of the business.
