SAPICS has arranged a site visit and volunteer event to one of its partner associations - FoodForwardSA on the 7th September from 10 – 12 noon.
FoodForward SA connects a world of excess to a world of need by recovering quality edible surplus food from the consumer goods supply chain and distributing it to community organisations that serve the poor.
Volunteers are a huge help when it comes to assisting the warehouse staff at FoodForward SA with sorting, defacing and packing the donated surplus food. It also offers FoodForward SA a great opportunity to engage with more people and educate them about the problem of hunger in South Africa and what FoodForward SA is doing to address this problem. When volunteering at our warehouse you can expect to take part in one or more of the following activities:
The address is
21 Polaris Road
Lansdowne, Western Cape South Africa
SAPICS encourages you to attend this event, learn about FoodForwardSA's processes and warehousing as well as assisting them with their work for just 2 hours on the 7th September.
